How To Curl Ur Hair With Straightener – Short hairstyles were considered challenging for a while, but now short hairstyles have beautiful hairstyles to choose from. I love sharing quick hairstyles because after chemotherapy I had to style my short hair out of necessity.
One of my favorite tools for short hair is the flat iron. Hair straighteners are very versatile and can be used to create straight, wavy, loose curls or tight curls and are suitable for all hair types. If you want to buy a few tools or use a curling iron, it’s an easy way to create effortless curls without straight lines.

Straightening your hair can create natural texture as well as simply gorgeous curls, and you’re not limited by the length of your hair. In this hair tutorial, I’ll show you how to create beachy waves for short hair with straight hair.

Before curling your hair, you need to choose your products and tools. Tip: Flatten the adjustable thermostat to avoid heat damage.
I’m using a 1 inch ceramic iron and heat shield in this tutorial. I swear by this particular heat protectant because it has anti-frizz properties and protects your hair from hot tools. I recommend it. Apply in the bath. Hair should be cleansed and dried before activating the product.
Which iron you choose, think about the length of your hair and the width of your curls. I recommend a 1/2″ or 1″ iron for short hair and frizzy curls. Keep in mind that you’re using one-inch sections, so whether you have thin or thick hair, you’ll want a straight line that best matches the thickness of your hair. If you have long, thick hair, you can use a 1″ or 1.5″ straight line
You’ll want another spray to finish. Some people prefer to cut their hair to maintain their style. I don’t like to style my hair and I rarely use it, so I rely more on texture spray.
Let’s Curl Your Hair Using A Hair Straightener
I think curls are best for slightly frizzy hair, but you know your hair best. The best way to prep your hair is to use a heat protectant and some dry shampoo.
Dry shampoo removes excess oil and gives hair volume and body before you start. You may also want to consider brushing your hair before curling it with a straightener.
Consider this if you want a sleek look with perfectly curled ends and soft bounce. Or if you want a more messy natural look with your ends.
In today’s tutorial, I’m going to show you how to curl short hair into a messy hairstyle with a flat iron. I’ve found that choppy ends are the best way to get a simple, curly look that’s casual and work-ready.

Once you’ve decided what you want to curl, you’ll divide your hair into small sections.
I get the best results when I part my short hair into top and bottom layers and then gently curl it about an inch. You can usually do two layers for curls on short hair, but if you have long, thick hair, you may need to do more layers/sections.
Cut the hair, if I want straight ends, I start by straightening the bottom layer of hair with a flat iron. Especially on the bottom, keep the ends sharp so that the top layers blend properly with the rest of the hair for a tough yet sleek look.

Now let’s start curling. Move the tip of the iron away from your face and take a small amount of hair in between.
Move the iron over the section of hair near the scalp. Gently move the iron away from your face. The curl direction is away from your face to create the easy wavy curls we want.
Using this method, you will see how much hair you need to keep in each section. Sometimes it is necessary to iron some parts of the hair that are not curly the first time.
If you want tighter curls, twist the straight line further. If you want a looser curl, move the iron quickly and lightly with pressure or control.

Move from left to center. Then weave from the middle to the right, with the curling iron away from the face.
On the top layer of hair we repeat the same process… but to begin with, the iron is placed slightly below the head and not close to the scalp.
By starting the curve, the top end is better preserved and the bottom layer curve continues to add volume.
Curling short hair can be tricky when it comes to the front parts that cover the face. One trick I found was to change the angle of the line from slanted to vertical. This angle helps to better capture the curves of the face.

Play around with different angles of the iron on these pieces to see which style you prefer on your hair.
Now take a wide tooth comb or your fingers and pull out small sections of hair. I like to keep the curls in a messy bouncy style, but to smooth it out a bit.
If you like how the curls look, you can skip this step and blend the two layers by running your fingers through the curls.
The final step is very important and completes the look. Use a styling spray (this is my favorite) to finish the hair from the bottom to the ends, then massage the hair with your fingers.

I like to build layers and spray more in certain areas that need more volume.
If you want to use a hairspray, you can use it at this stage, but I like to stick to just texturizing spray to finish the curls.
